Pivot expanded the already massive range of capabilities in this iteration of the Trail 429. It is still incredibly fast and sharp but can now take on more challenging rides than ever. A slackened head angle slightly increases the reach, enhancing the stability at high speeds while maintaining proper ergonomics to promote massive power transfer on the pedals. Pivot also introduced a flip-chip on this version of the Trail 429. This allows riders to tune the geometry toward speed-focused riding or rowdy technical ability depending on the terrain ahead. With the addition of a Fox Performance DPS shock for 120mm of rear travel at a lower price, this bike is ready for anything. Another 130mm of travel is offered at the front in the form of a Fox Performance 34 fork.

The new Pivot Trail 429 comes with a lighter frame than ever. Improvements to Pivot’s Hollow Core Technology allowed them to shave over 300 grams off the weight of the frame. This leaves riders with a bike that has the weight of a high-level cross country machine with the capability of an all-mountain bike. A rework of the dw-link suspension offers a bottomless feel through tough terrain while maximizing pedaling efficiency. The improvements made to the Pivot Trail 429 have simply resulted in razor sharp performance along with a very smooth ride. The Ride version has aluminum handlebars and a Fox Transfer Performance Seatpost for high performance at a lower price than other models. This version also features a SRAM GX/X01 Eagle groupset for affordable and effective trail specific 12-speed shifting. The Pivot Trail 429 is simply one of the most diverse and capable bikes to touch the trail.
